The Office of Accreditation and Assessment
The mission of the Office of Accreditation and Assessment (OAA) is to cultivate and nurture the culture of data-informed and action-oriented decisions for continuous improvement and innovation in student learning, support and services. OAA is committed to providing leadership as well as serve as a resource for planning and implementation of institutional, academic and non-instructional units assessment, program review, and accreditation efforts to advance Kean University’s dual mission of excellence and access.
The OAA coordinates with the University Senate’s Assessment Committee to plan, implement, and evaluate professional development workshops, seminars, panels, and online assistance which focuses on student learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS
Save the date for Kean University’s inaugural Assessment Summit to be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, in the Miron Student Center.
Co-sponsored by the Office of Accreditation and Assessment (OAA), the Division of Strategic Analytics and Data Illumination (SADI), and the University Assessment Committee (UAC), the summit will celebrate the culture of collaborative assessment at Kean as well as share best practices on demystifying assessment and accreditation. This event will also highlight Kean’s Moonshot for Equity initiative and will feature Gavin Henning, Ph.D., professor of higher education at New England College, as the keynote speaker. Henning is a scholar, author and consultant focused on equity-centered assessment.

The SADI Series: Data Insights and Institutional Priorities – Utilizing the Data Dashboards
- The OAA will be taking a multi-step approach to socializing the SADI data dashboards.
- The SADI Series will begin with Introductory Workshops and provide online resources such as Video Presentations to allow faculty, staff and administrators to gain a better understanding of the information that is available to them.
- We will also have follow-up sessions to gain feedback to identify what would make these dashboards more meaningful for our users.
